1. Bartel Meat Market, 1890. Copy photo. Shows the facade of a corner store with an awning. Two men with aprons stand on the front steps, along with assorted children and a dog (African American boy near the dog in the store entrance).
2. Bartel Family, 1890. Two men in a boat, with sails wrapped around the mast. The boat is at the shore. One of the men is standing holding a rifle (gun).

A fence separates the field from the open landscape containing several buildings on the other side of the fence. Structures on the rise behind the buildings top left may indicate a cemetery.
