This collection contains labor newspapers published in Grand Rapids, Michigan, collected and donated by Michael W. Johnston. The Grand Rapids CIO News began publishing on July 28, 1955. The newspaper covered labor news and unions. In 1958, the name was changed to the Grand Valley AFL-CIO News, in 1968 to Grand Valley Labor News, and in 2011 to Work in Progress.
