Roger Patterson photographs
The collection consists of images owned by librarian Roger Patterson who worked in the Grand Rapids Public library from the 1960s through the 1980s. The presence of descriptive tags for some of the photos as well as construction paper lettering imply the images were used in displays in branches of the Grand Rapids Public Library. The images are primarily of Grand Rapid's West Side and include churches, parks, bridges, and private and public buildings.

This collection contains a number of identified photos of the Sundbeck family, the Keck boarding house, the Lindberg family, and Stocking School. Also included are a few pieces of local ephemera.

Thomas glass plate negatives
The Thomas glass plate negatives contain 269 historical glass negative images from the first decade of the twentieth century, plus one original photo. The plates seem to have been taken by Mr. Thomas and his daughter. The images depict Thomas family members, houses, house interiors and various Grand Rapids views such as the flood of 1904, the Grand River, John Ball Park and workers. Also included are views from Holland, Grand Haven and Muskegon, Michigan.

Zane (Zanon) Burniewicz (1901-1977) was a Lithuanian immigrant and local photographer in Grand Rapids, MI. This collection, which represents a small portion of his work, includes portraits and wedding photographs of local people of mostly Polish and Lithuanian descent. Patrons interested in local photographers or those researching their family history are likely to find this collection particularly useful.
