Avery and Ford Gilleo photographs and letters

Abstract Ford Wilcox Gilleo (1891-1975) and Avery Clare Gilleo (1894-1957) were born to Clarence and Gertrude (Wilcox) Gilleo in Lakeview, Michigan. Both men served in World War I in the 126th Infantry, 63rd Brigade of the 32nd Red Arrow Division and returned home after the war. Abstract The Beineman/McSorley papers are comprised mostly of letters written between husband and wife, John & Alta (Beineman) McSorley, during the United States' involvement in World War II. John enlisted in the United States Army in March 1943 and was discharged in October 1945. Abstract

The Birdsall Funeral Home was operated by Ira Birdsall in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This collection contains seven volumes of burial records for deaths handled by the funeral home. The volumes date from 1912-1938. They contain such data as the name of the deceased, address, occupation, death date, age at death, cause of death, parents' names and birthplaces, funeral costs, and place of internment. The volumes are in chronological order.

Birdseye Veneer Company 35th Anniversary photo album

Abstract

The Birdseye Veneer Company operated in Escanaba, Michigan during the first half of the twentieth century. The 43 8x10 photographs in the album, made in 1943, detail the processing of trees into sheets and rolls of veneer by the company. The images document the mechanical, animal and human power used in the process.
