The program was started in 1994 in response to cuts in art and music funding in the Grand Rapids Public Schools. This series contains material related to Festival of the Arts. Included are reports, correspondence, programs, ephemera, news clippings, by-laws, minutes and committee descriptions. Festival of the Arts was closely intertwined with the Arts Council and additional records can be found throughout the collection (for example, in the board minutes).
