Abstract

The Grand Rapids Chicks were a part of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) from 1945 to 1954. This is a devised collection containing photographs and official programs of the original team. It also contains later AAGPBL reunion programs and photographs, baseball cards, ephemera, articles and an oral history regarding the Grand Rapids Chicks.

Helen Earlene "Beans" Risinger (1927-2008) was a pitcher for the Grand Rapids Chicks (Grand Rapids, Mich) baseball team, pat of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). This collection contains baseball cards, programs, magazine and newspaper articles, scrapbooks and photographs of the Chicks. The material focuses on Risinger's years on the team, 1949-1954.

Abstract Marguerite King Moran (1910-May 2002) lived and worked in Grand Rapids, Michigan and collected memorabilia relating to the Grand Rapids Chicks baseball team. Abstract

The Norma L. Gillette collection contains newspaper clippings and photographs, circa 1946-1949, of the Grand Rapids Chicks, a team in the All American Girl Professional Baseball League. Included are details of games, particularly those during which extraordinary skill or performance were demonstrated. Also included are photographs of individual Chicks in formal posed shots and snap shots on South Field in Grand Rapids.
