Abstract In 1913 the Kent Garden Club was founded by a group of women from the city of Grand Rapids, Mich. Their mission was to promote gardening, educate their members and the community on different aspects of gardening, and to conserve the wildlife and environment of Michigan. The Kent Garden club was vigorously engaged in the community. The club donated to the Red Cross, The Ronald McDonald House, and various hospitals and organizations.
