Frederick Stuart Church
Frederick Stuart Church (1842-1924) was an American artist who was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a devised collection that brings together original holdings and reference material. Most significant are the paintings, sketches, etchings, reproductions and photographs of work by Church that were recieved in March 1920 from the estate of the famous art collector and philanthropist Charles Lang Freer (1854-1919).
Illustrations and papers of Kreigh T. Collins
Kreigh Collins (1908-1974) was an artist, illustrator and cartoonist. This collection contains the bulk of the known archival papers and illustrations compiled from his estate. Included are childhood sketches, early advertising art, book and church illustrations and panels from his three better known comic strips (Mitzi McCoy, Kevin the Bold and Up Anchor). Also included are reference materials, personal and professional correspondence, scrapbooks, sketchbooks and other clippings.

Paul Collins (b. 1936) is an American realist painter who resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The collection includes biographical information, newspaper clippings and photographs of Collins as well as exhibit catalogs, ephemera and books illustrated by Collins. Additionally, there are several original art works by Paul Collins in the Grand Rapids Public Library art holdings. This collection would be of particular interest to those researching African American artists.
The Grand Rapids Press Arts and Entertainment Index scrapbooks
The Grand Rapids Press Arts and Entertainment Index scrapbooks include arts related newspaper clippings for the years 1973-1992. The clippings are primarily from the Grand Rapids Press, with some from other local and national publications. This collection was a GRHSC department project that was arranged and completed by a volunteer, Marilyn Titche.
