Abstract The Michigan Genealogical Council (MGC) is comprised of genealogy societies and institutions around the state of Michigan. This collection contains a directory of member societies and their publications as of 1994. In October 1992, MGC hosted its annual seminar in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Abstract This collection is made up primarily of the personal papers and photographs of Sara Kinglsey Smith (1872-1963), daughter of former Grand Rapids Mayor, Henry S. Smith, and Isaac Platt Powell (1838-1903) spanning the years from 1884-1935. Abstract The Western Michigan Genealogical Society church records collection is the result of a project conducted by the WMGS to borrow and microfilm historical files from churches throughout the Western Michigan community.
