Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War records
The Mrs. Byron R. Pierce Tent #17 was the Grand Rapids chapter of the national Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War organization. The Tent was formed in 1919 and performed various duties to honor Civil War veterans. The Tent raised and dispersed funds appropriate to Civil War commemorations and frequently held social events at veterans’ homes. The collection consists of a manuscript detailing the history of the club. The manuscript also includes minutes and financial records.
