Biographical / Historical
Grace Oakes Carling was born on May 7, 1890 in Newaygo County, Michigan. Her parents were Henry Oakes (1862-1936) and May McClure (1870-1958). Grace married John Francis (Frank) Carling on November 26, 1919 and he died in 1963. Grace and Frank lived at 133 Melbourne NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan for many years. Grace worked as a saleswoman for the Wurzburg Company and C.J. Farley Dry Goods Company. She died on February 21, 1988.
