The photographs in folders labeled “John Widdicomb” were sorted by furniture type and product line, and matched to the Widdicomb trade catalogues in collection 232. Those that matched were put into Box 10 and labeled with the corresponding publication from 232. There remains a large group of photos that did not match, which have product numbers above #1756. They are sorted into folders by furniture type or by product line.

The majority of photographs are affiliated with the Good Furniture Magazine which was published in Grand Rapids by the Dean Hicks Company. It is yet to be determined why these photographs would have been in the possession of Mr. Buzzitta. The backs of these photos have either been stamped with “Good Furniture” and a publication month and year, or they just have the date. That date designates the issue of the magazine in which that particular photo was used. Locating the issue will provide the reader with information about the object of the photo.

The Good Furniture-related photos have been placed into boxes by furniture type, but are not described at the folder level due to the remoteness of their connection to Grand Rapids. Some topics overlap, and the objects in some photos may have been misfiled due to the lack of identification on the reverse side of the photo. It is not always possible to distinguish between tapestries and rugs, drapery material and wallpaper, for example.

The photographs which are not identified to a Good Furniture issue have been put in separate boxes, also not described at the folder level.
