This series contains numerous subseries of photographic prints that correspond to the images in the negatives. Originally the series contained only the prints found at the Studio, which were matched to negatives during processing. Since the receipt of the original collection, and the original processing, GRHSCC has continued to add newly made photographic prints, created from the original Robinson negatives, to the collection. There prints were created when the positive image was needed for other projects, such as exhibits, or because of popular usage of a particular image by the public, such as the image of John Kennedy riding on the back of a convertible during his presidential campaign visit to Grand Rapids.

During 2004/2005, a project is being conducted to identify Robinson Studio prints in other GRHSCC Archival collections. An index will be created to provide access to those prints. In that way, users can be referred to a positive view of a Robinson image, which does not exist within the Robinson Collection. In connection with this project, Robinson Studio photographic prints found in Coll. 054, the generic Grand Rapids Public Library Photo Collection, will be transferred to the Robinson Studio Collection. Any future acquisitions of small accessions or unknown accessions of Robinson Studio photographic prints will be added to the Robinson Studio Collection, rather than Coll. 054. Alternatively, those newly received Robinson Photographic prints, which are to remain associated with new, but specific separate GRHSCC archival collections, will be indexed during processing into the new Indexing to Robinson Prints in Other GRHSCC Archival Collections. The prints transferred from Coll. 054 will be contained in a new subseries, and housed in Boxes 955.
