Date NoteCarron (1998) gives the date of the merger of Luce and the Furniture Shops as 1925. Since no mention of Luce is made on this item, it is believed to date in 1925 of before. Carron also gives the date of the Furniture Shops of Grand Rapids from 1923 to 1933. Thus, it is presumed that this item dates from 1923 to the 1925 merger. In 1933 Luce filed for bankruptcy, which may have resulted in the disappears of the "Furniture Shop" name, after that date.
