General
The catalogs of this family oriented furniture business often include images of family and staff, posed in group shots or in candid images. Some of the photographers identified include Marius Rooks, and Earl Woods. See the separate Rooks Collection, No. 230, for possible negatives that may correspond with some of the images in these catalogs. Many of the catalogs appear almost identical from year to year, but include some changes that make them unique, and usually have a different cover. The 1975 & 1976 catalogs are unique, with some changes in content, although the covers look the same. Most of the catalogs include a variety of decorative objects for sale, in addition to the furniture illustrated. Several had clippings removed from these before being given to the Library.
Catalog titles were taken from front covers. Various printers were used over the years, including R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. of Chicago, as well as local firms.
