The Widdicomb Furniture Co. was the successor firm of Widdicomb Brothers & Richards, in 1873, remaining in operation until 1950, when it merger with Mueller Furniture Corp. to form the Widdicomb-Mueller Corp. See the separate trade catalogs associated with the Widdicomb-Mueller era. In 1960, this relationship was ended, returning with Widdicomb continuing on it’s own into the 1960’s.

In 1970, the name was purchase by the John Widdicomb Co.

The notable furniture design T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings worked from the Widdicomb Company from 1943-1956. In the 1960’s Robsjohn-Gibbings worked for Baker, and some of this designs have made it into later publications from the John Widdicomb or associated organizations, in the 1980’s and 1990’s after the designers death.
