Carron (1998) list the Grand Rapids Furniture Co. for the years 1902 to 1957. He does not list the Grand Rapids Seating Company. The Grand Rapids Furniture Co. is listed at 192 Butterworth in the 1894 Grand Rapids City Directory.

In the 1895 Grand Rapids City Directory, for the Grand Rapids Furniture Co., there is a cross reference to See the Grand Rapids Seating Company. The Grand Rapids Seating Co. entry lists the officers and location as given on the title page of the catalog now in this collection.

The 1896 Grand Rapids City Directory again lists the Grand Rapids Seating Company, this time with P. Frost Shepherd as President, W.J. Perkins as VP, C.B. Judd as VP, and S.W. Peregrine as Secretary/Treasurer, still at the same location. The Grand Rapids Furniture Co. is absent from the directory.

The 1897 GR City Directory once again lists the Grand Rapids Furniture Co., at the 192-212 Butterworth Ave. address. No officers are listed. The Grand Rapids Seating Co. is also listed at this address, with the same officers as for 1896.

In the 1898 Directory, the Grand Rapids Furniture Co. is listed with an address at Broadway between 9th and 10. The other Company's listing reads “Grand Rapids Seating Co. Peninsular Trust Co. Trustee.”

In 1899, the Grand Rapids Seating Co. entry is gone, and members of the Perkins family, who have run the Grand Rapids School Furniture Co. during this time period, and at Broadway address, are now listed as officers for both the School Furniture Co. and the Grand Rapids Furniture Co.
