Founded in 1886, the Grand Rapids School Furniture Co., and known as the Grand Rapids School Furniture Works, the name was used until about 1899, when it merged with several other companies to form the American School Furniture Co. (N.Y.), in 1906. It first used the name American Seating Co., but the offices did not move back to Grand Rapids until 1931. (See Carron). Thus, items below are believed to date between between 1886 and 1899.
