Abstract M. Annie Leitch (1894-1989) was the Director of Nursing at the School of Nursing at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1936-1952. Throughout her career, Ms. Leitch promoted professionalism in nursing, encouraged the proper recognition of its practitioners and possessed a keen interest in the history of nursing.
